On a Collinson’s Theorem about Empty Spacetime Embedded into a Space of Constant Curvature

Abstract

We use a theorem of Synge to show that no non-flat vacuum R4 can be embedded into a five-dimensional space of constant curvature, which was proved by Collinson employing results of Szekeres.
