Consideration on a Nuclear Binding Energy Formula
Abstract
In this paper the authors will consider a simple nuclear binding energy formula in which nuclear binding energy is proportional to A2/N with an energy constant of 2.4 MeV. If As is the stable mass number of Z, it is noticed that As – 2Z = (Z/4p)2. With 2.4 MeV, it is also possible to show that nuclear charge radii are close to [(Z + 2)1/3 + [(Z + 2)1/3](0.6fm).
