Kantowski-Sachs String Cosmological Models in Sen–Dunn Theory of Gravitation

Abstract


The field equations in scalar-tensor theory of gravitation are derived in the presence of cosmic strings considering Kantowski-Sachs metric. The field equations are solved with the help of physically meaningful cases viz., (i) relationship between rest energy density and tension density of strings and (ii) assuming a functional relationship between the metric functions. The properties of the models are discussed at the end.
