The Pioneer Anomaly

B. G. Sidharth

Abstract

J.D. Anderson and coworkers have been observing the trajectories of Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11 for some two decades. They have repeatedly found an anomalous acceleration which refuses to go away. Several attempts have been made to provide an explanation. Recently S. Turyshev and coworkers have made the most comprehensive review yet of the Pioneer data and find that the heat from the electrical sub-systems and the decay of plutonium could be the reason. We examine this matter briefly, mentioning also the author's own Varying G Dynamics.
