Educational Horizons and the Frontiers of Science

Abstract


It is unfortunate that most of the general public views Science in a perspective similar to History, as a collection of facts about the world or universe, rather than as a continually evolving working description of its dynamism. The frontiers of Science today are being explored by people who never lost their sense of play, and thus became better at playing with ideas than most of the other people around them.  From what I’ve seen; the people earning top honors are consistently among the most playful thinkers, and many are outspoken about the need to remain playful – in order to continue the advancement of the sciences.
