Understanding Λ with the Aid of Biconformal Gravity

Willard Mittelman

Abstract

We use the framework of biconformal gravity [1, 2, 3, 4] to explore the possibility of explaining non-anthropically the tiny observed value of the cosmological constant Λ. We focus especially on the account of Λ in [1], where (i) a nonzero Λ is necessary for the very existence of a meaningful gravity theory such as general relativity (GR), and (ii) the field equations of GR are derivable from the biconformal gravity action.
