A Five-Dimensional Inflationary Universe in General Relativity

We investigate, in this paper, a five dimensional inflationary universe in a spherically symmetric space time in the presence of mass less scalar field φ with a flat potential v(φ). To find an exact solution of Einstein field equations we have considered a flat region in which v(φ) is constant. We have evaluated the cosmological parameters of the model which are important in the discussion of behavior of the universe. It is observed that our model is non-singular, shearing and expanding from zero volume. Also, the universe remains anisotropic throughout the evolution and decelerates in the standard way.
